I’m back in the what seems like “country life” after being in LA and enjoying my bluebirds and Monarch butterflies but there is an itch that I can’t scratch. I’m missing all of you incredible women, students and teachers (you too Gary and the most amazing men helping out). I asked several of you, “how do you know each other” because I felt like I was a newbie. Well, the response was that they had been repeaters to Ana Brandt’s conferences. They found friendship, support, and education repeatedly. So, I guess I’ll see you ladies again. Hugs.

From all the educational events that I’ve attended with Ana, I really needed this one. Being around like minded people does something to the soul. I came to the summit a little broken, I little defeated and I little sad. As I packed my bags, I told my husband, I need to go and find happy again. Thank so much to Ana Brandt for making this happen. Thank you to all the teachers for lighting up my fire again. Thank you all my new friends for becoming a friend! And thank you to all my friends for all the warm hugs and laughter we shared!! You all made a difference in me!! I found happy again and I’m ready to kick some axx!! NYC here we come!! Consultants let’s start pushing and getting out there! And we can’t forget Alex! He is always amazing! The Brandt Kids, I love them all!! Gaby, she rocks! So many to thank!! What happens when you get…..60 plus students, 7 awesome teachers, some amazing interns and staff, gorgeous models, and ONE woman who started it all because she has a vision to teach, inspire, and encourage all those around her?

My first summit ever! I so wish I found this tribe sooner. When I started photography finding like minded individuals was quite the task. Community over competition was not a reality. My first example of seeing that it actually did exist was when I started investing in my education and training with Ana. Here’s a quick example: Heather Ward Tietjen and I are in the same city and in walking distance of each other’s studio. We’ve become great friends. My 1st 3:1 with Ana was at her studio. In being friends with her, I also became friends with her bestie Veleska Martin. They kind of adopted me lol . Now? We love to collab with each other, discuss all things photography, and have each other’s back if one needs help with something. It’s been amazing to talk to and have friends in the same profession who actually know what I’m talking about when I complain or am frustrated about something! They were also my travel buddies and roomies for the Summit! We had so much fun!

Ana Brandt - Thank you for creating such an empowering and safe place for photographers. In other groups you see photographers tearing each other apart and I’ve never understood it. Here? We’re cheered. We’re taught. We’re given tough love. We’re told get off our asses and take control. We’re inspired. We’re empowered. We’re a tribe.

So thank you. For all the blood, sweat and tears in creating this environment. For being you. And for making me not afraid to be me personally, artistically and professionally. Thank you.
